The nova that has served me so well has moved on to another owner now, and I have purchased my dad’s Calibra. It’s big, comfy, quick and sleek, in fact everything the nova wasn’t Bassline has been installed, and it’s in the garage for a few bits and bobs this week (including fixing the sunroof, that is currently stuck. Open.)
Going to run that for a year and then get an Octavia RS or an IS200 I reckon…
Some pics of Clive’s super sweet V8 Opel Manta project, winner of Billing car of the show 2006. This car was free, brown and knackered when he got it
All the shiny bits were constructed by Clive, who has a company called Custom Solutions that do bespoke fabrication and engraving. Clive did most of the work on my Opel Ascona, including some gorgeous one off stainless window winders :y:
More lovely old Opel Asconas from the Retro Rides forum
This one was up for sale for a grand, two weeks ago. If I had seen it sooner, I would have bought it without hesitation. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth :cwy:
I am itching to get another rusty old knacker, strip it out and stick an unruly engine in it. I always wanted a mk1 fiesta or a Chevette. Fiesta would get a Zetec, and the Chevette would have the 2.0 16v from a Calibra… hardly original, but should be a right laugh. I need a nice smooth, professional looking vehicle to get me about for work… but the weekends belong to something outrageous
