Caffeine detox

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

We have a bean to cup Gaggia machine in the office, and it makes delicious coffee. I am really sensitive to things. Not a good combination, and resulted in a rollercoaster of manic depression during the day, followed by crashing and burning in the evening.

After deciding to give caffeine up as an experiment, I had a pounding headache for five days, was generally slothful and had trouble sleeping. I did my turkey, and have returned to a coffee free equilibrium. My moods are more stable, I can focus better and I don’t crash in the evenings )

“He said, she said” drama VS getting things done

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

People often cause themselves untold amount of trouble, and then spend half their lives telling other people about said trouble. I want to get things done in my life, so I haven’t got time or energy to listen to their self inflicted woes. If people make bad choices and refuse to change things, then I have no time for them.

Weighing matters up, if I spend time listening to other people’s (boring) dramas, then I am not doing things that are important to me. Whining people will take ALL of my time if allowed to, and will only get themselves in more trouble anyway. Therefore, I will spend NO time listening to them, and get on with important and pleasurable things instead. Some authors talk about “toxic characters”, and their toxins rubbing off on people that support their attention seeking ways. Bye bye, toxic people.

Review: Flatmateclick.co.uk

I signed up to this website, and within a week had found somewhere super lush to live. If you are sick of letting agents ripping you off for “admin fees”, £500 grotty flats above kebab shops and other such bullshit, give this site a go.

You can search and express interest for free, and if you find somewhere you want to live, you can pay to contact the landlord. I paid for a whole year at £50, which is still loads cheaper than getting my wallet raped by a letting agent D

Clutter!

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

I am moving house over the next couple of weeks to a lovely barn conversion near Nottingham. This is a Good Thing, as I will be nearer my kid. However, as I prepare to move out of my student digs, I keep finding more and more “Stuff” to move. Where did it all come from? Why do I move it every time I move house, yet never actually USE the Stuff?

Because it is Clutter. Remnants of the Bargain Demon, buying Stuff that I didn’t actually want, but because it was cheap. Or having free Stuff because I didn’t want the previous owner to throw it away. Clutter has to go!
