I run my own Nottingham web design business called FCS Websites. We make standards compliant, fast loading and good looking websites, ecommerce sites and content managed websites for businesses and charities across the UK. It started as a hobby then became a profession when I worked for F1Design in Lincoln while I was at university.

The business was officially set up in 2007 and we quickly got involved in making a number of websites using Expression Engine, Textpattern and Zencart. We don’t advertise a great deal, as most jobs are coming from word of mouth. I use a bunch of talented freelance designers and programmers and we run a virtual office.

We also offer eco-friendly green web hosting from a partner company in Nottingham. This indirectly uses wind power to run the web servers and is a great way of making your website greener for little more than standard hosting. The technical support is great too – one of my clients recently lost their website because a host (that won’t be named here… ) just deleted their site. We don’t do things like that.
