Asleep

Most are blissfully unaware of reality, either by not looking at it, or looking and then tricking themselves into thinking that the most of does not exist. Do what everyone else does, like the same music, drive the same car, wear the same clothes, listen to the media, get married, have kids, work all your life, die.

We all have the capability to do something stunning with our lives, but most do not exercise that muscle, it has never been used and they don’t even know it is there. The geniuses have all been classed as eccentric or crazy, maybe it is a fine line, like so much else it comes full circle, the further you go, the closer you get to where you started from.

Place your trust in “god” or whatever, give up all responsibility for decisions, follow a book and blame behaviour on imperfection or the devil. Live your life waiting to die, abstain so that you may enter heaven, where none of the things you have so carefully denied yourself are permitted. Resolve your guilt through justification and absolution by a man. Feel that life will be better after it has ended.

Inherit your parent’s way. Live their lifestyle, go to the same place on holiday. Have their views, be them all over again, repeat the cycle. Live near them, talk like them, have the same friends. Stick to what you know, so you are nice and safe, no risks, no responsibility.

Be reactive, trying so hard to please others to ease the aching self-hate, unable to love as you do not know how to love yourself. Be at the mercy of others, every word and behaviour just a knee jerk reaction to what the world throws at you. Never really enjoying, never knowing what you like, following the crowd, trying to fit in, never finding the pleasure you seek. Seek to control others because you cannot control yourself.

Get conned. Never search for the real value of things. Pay over the odds. Get in debt. Get car finance, get a huge mortgage. Pay high rent so that you can say you live in a good area. Work to pay your never ending bills. Be a slave to the interest rate, live in fear. Do not have time or energy to enjoy the things you have bought.

Never understand why. Leave everything as a mystery. Blunder through life on other’s advice. Believe what is more comfortable, believe lies and stories.

Deny your true nature. What would be done if the action had no consequence? Never say what you think or mean. Live by the consciences and rules of others. Let others choose your behaviour for you. Fear change, fear your self. Bury it and suffer as it surfaces later. Wonder why.

Die in your sleep.
