Grasshopper says..

These things nabbed from numerous people, books and websites have proved useful to me…

  • Take what you want, and pay for it. You have lots of choices, but most things come with a price to pay. As long as you know what the price is, you can make your choice.
  • Retain your personal power - you always have choices.
  • If you sit staring at a lightbulb, your world becomes a lightbulb. Get a change of perspective.
  • Balance - the middle way. Not too much, not too little. Extremes are usually unhelpful.
  • Asserting yourself is not the same as shouting at people. If a person does not hear you, walk away.
  • Feel your feelings, don’t think them. They don’t even need a label. Mindfulness is letting things arise and pass, not avoiding them or clinging to them.
  • Value your own opinion more than that of others. Most people have a vested interest in your failure, so will discourage you. Jealousy is a nasty thing.
  • Say what you mean, and mean what you say, life is too short to worry about what others think.
  • Everything is relative, and the same thing means different things to different people.
  • The future starts here - changes can happen this minute. Just do something.
  • Get active! It’s easy to think yourself into paralysis. As above, just do something, and it will shake the tree for you.
